Modern Frontier Defense

James brings real-world experience and a practical, no-nonsense approach to training at Modern Frontier Defense. With 7 years of service in the United States Army, including combat deployment to Iraq, James has honed his skills in high-stakes environments, though this was a small part of his life. He’s trained extensively in self-defense shooting and Close Quarters Battle (CQB) techniques, both as a student and an instructor.

James has completed numerous specialized courses, including a Unit Marksmanship Instructor Course and multiple CQB programs taught by Special Operations instructors. He is a Force-on-Force Instructor, giving him the tools to prepare both civilians and law enforcement personnel for the realities of deadly force encounters.

Known for his casual yet highly demonstrative teaching style, James emphasizes safety, realism, and readiness in every class. Whether you're a first-time shooter or a seasoned officer, his goal is to make you more capable, more confident, and more prepared.

Safety and Refund Policies
Due to logistical challenges of class setup and enrollment, all sales are final. Once purchased, classes are non-refundable, unless cancelled by Modern Frontier Defense. You can transfer your reservation to another person. Please email their name and email address to james@modernfrontierdefense.com

SAFETY: Our priority and ethos is to provide a safe place to train. If you, or any person of your party, flagrantly violate any safe gun handling procedures, classroom ground rules, or any other behavior deemed inappropriate by any instructor, we reserve the right to remove you from the class at any time with no refund.
